Sydnee Johnson, LSW
Common Thoughts Counseling

Hello and welcome. I am a Licensed Social Worker and therapist based in southern Indiana.  I provide in-person sessions ages 4+ and telehealth/virtual sessions to clients ages 13 years of age and older throughout the state of Indiana. I treat a variety of mental health concerns and specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and trauma.

I have worked in the mental health field for nearly 2 years. Prior to joining Common Thoughts Counseling, I worked in at a local mental health clinic and was a school based social worker. I worked alongside a great team of other therapists to provide psychotherapy to a wide range of clients. It was through my work in a clinic and school that I felt compelled to join a practice that focused on highquality and personalized behavioral healthcare; hence the creation of Common Thoughts Counseling.

Common Thoughts?

Why The Name?

Mental health struggles can be isolating and lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation. Most of all, I want clients to know their inner-thoughts are not bizarre, unheard of, or abnormal. They are truly Common Thoughts which affect all of us from time-to-time.

Therapy Approaches

While I am trained to treat a variety of mental health concerns, I have been fortunate enough to receive additional training in areas of anxiety, depression, and trauma. I am  EMDR therapist (read more about EMDR). In addition, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy.

Clients describe my therapy style as comfortable and inviting. I believe in a client-centered approach that treats each client with respect and dignity. I am passionate about mental health wellness and believe that mental health encompasses so much more than a set of symptoms.

When not providing therapy, I enjoy spending time with my husband, and daughter. I enjoy and spending time outside at the lake, thrifting, and you will more than likely always see me with strawberry lemonade in hand.
